The Exchange - A Certain Woman of Impact

“I must pray and change things!”  Judge Ilona Holmes rallied us to our feet as we celebrated with loud, heartfelt applause. Only the Judge could make us laugh and let down our hair—we will never again think about a pole in the same way!  Plus, her teaching encouraged us to have a stronger commitment!  She spoke to us about being strong, faithful, women of Impact—women who do not look back but always move forward with a clear sense of purpose. She gave us nuggets of truth, and precious guidance to help us to really love God and to be what God has called us to be.  AND, how to handle haters along the way!  Monday night the Judge christened us as Women of Impact!

Check out the link to the poem she read and the passage she taught from—you’ll enjoy coming back to this good soul food!

What did you learn about being God’s Woman of Impact, and how did you use your purple gift bag to Pass It On? I’m interested to hear the nuggets and guidance you gained from our time with the Judge.  Please feel free to comment below!

Love,

Pastor Shyrl

My Grandma Marschke decided to use the puprple gift bag for a neighbor whose son passed away at the age of 60. We prayed often for the couple who lost their son and decided to share the gift bag plus coffee cake to let them know we were thinking of them.
We said that we would continue to pray for them and we were so delighted that they were working through their grief. They blessed us and we blessed them. The concept of the purple bag should be a level of multiplication of God's love and I was personally touched by all the welcoming women that we met that night. The exchange rocks!

Some of the take aways that I got from it were:
"I must pray to change things" - I need to pray more.
After hearing Judge Holmes speak and all of the other women welcoming me as a sister in Christ made me more on fire for God.
I attended a Christian Univeristy and know I am coaching/teaching. What I can take away is by living a life of influence and making an impact with those I encounter. The important message I take to heart is living a life beyond reproach and to make it a priority to lead others to Christ. My goal is to not worry about what other people say about me and I want to go out and change things.

Sister Shryl you have been a great inspiration and pastor for me. I love you and know that you truly care and DO make an impact on everyone you meet.

I enjoyed the evening very much, judge Holmes was fabulous and her talk was inspiring and uplifting. The poem she brought along was superb and I can think of a few women who would love to read it, as well as the encouraging message from the gift bag.

The whole night was a very warm experience with wonderful woman.
I am glad I was part of it, it definately made an "Impact" in my heart.

This meeting was the greatest one I have attended. The fellowship and connection between the new women at our table was heart felt!!! Judge Holmes was inspired by God with the word she had for the women, she is sure a gift to us. Pastor Shyrl I am so glad that THE EXCHANGE is back and we will be able to connect with women all over Broward County!!!
